LONGINES CHARLES LINDBERGH
CASE REFURBISHMENT

LNGINES LINBERGH 30.JPG

The Case now needs a bit of TLC, there are some fairly significant scratches the the hinged Case Back. We need to be careful not to over polish, as this will affect the overall authenciticy of the timepiece. We do not want it looking new, but needs to retain its age.

These are the before photos, above. It is not needing an awful lot of polishing, just enough to bring it back to a good looking watch.

Buffing & Polishing

Care is needed to not over buff the case as this will remove some of the Case material. The idea is to move the Case whilst buffing to blend in any imperfections. Attention is needed to avoid buffing out sharp edges, not so much of a concern with this case.  In many instances, it is preferred to leave cases and bracelets unfinished, to retain their vintage appearance.

After Buff & Polish

The finish is achieved by using different grades of compounds & work to the desired final finish.
